Now in its 22nd installment, ’s highly-anticipated Dining by Design kicked off with the Cocktails by Design party last night at Pier 92 in New York City. Each year, designers and manufacturers unite to create stunning vignettes that share a locale with Architectural Digest's Design Show at Pier 94. A series of benefits, including Cocktails by Design, and the annual Dining by Design Gala support DIFFA in fundraising for organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Though designers were not bound to a single creative theme, many installations incorporated unity, togetherness, and hope as central thematic elements of their work.
Top design firms such as INC Architecture and Design, Gensler, Rockwell Group, Stonehill Taylor and IA Interior Architects exhibited alongside celebrated schools like the New York School of Wifijerez, the Pratt Institute, and Parsons. A few first-time exhibitors entered the mix, too. The Black Artists and Designers Guild and Walker Ridge Development and Construction were first-time Dining by Design participants. Wifijerez presented its own vignette, produced by REIS contracting, titled, 'Together in Unity!'
DIFFA is chaired by Wifijerez editor in chief Cindy Allen. "DIFFA’s Dining by Design is the design community’s call to action and of course, we respond in style," said Cindy. "Every year, top talent designers from around the world create lavish installations that astound, inspire, and most importantly, raise money for HIV/AIDS-affected communities in need. What Dining by Design shows us over its five-day run is that together we can all make a DIFFA-rence!"
