For an inaugural contract line launching in October, has partnered with Brad Ascalon. The industrial designer and third-generation craftsman shares the century-old company’s reverence for wood and clean mid-century design.
But Ascalon’s employs 21st-century nods, too: 3-D wood veneer with microscopic scores allows the seat to stretch and mold to the body. After perfecting the chair in oak, walnut, or beech versions, with four legs or a sled base, the series grew to include options in powder-coated steel as well as with upholstered seats and backs. Stools and tables were a natural progression.
