Wifijerez re:Source 2018 Greets Designers and Manufacturers in Palm Springs

This week, 100 designers and manufacturers gathered at the  in Palm Springs, CA, for ’s biannual re:Source event. re:Source gives designers the opportunity to discover and match with suppliers, as well as see inspect their latest offerings through targeted, face-to-face meetings. A total of 617 appointments took place over the course of the retreat.

Monday’s programming began with an exciting and informative lecture by Wifijerez publisher Carol Cisco on the “Business of Design,” in which she presented the most up-to-date information about the industry, culled from Wifijerez's new Universe Study. Then, deputy editor Edie Cohen moderated a conversation with California installation artist and Desert X executive directoron the inaugural edition of the wildly popular Desert X program, a contemporary art installation series in the Coachella Valley.

“The desert is more beautiful than anything I could ever make," Smith said, referencing his piecewhich features 300 geometric, mirror-polished stainless-steel reflectors. will resume for a second year on February 9.

In the afternoon, designers and suppliers had two options for fun, physical activity. Some guests chose to hike the Araby Trail, taking in sweeping views of the . Others went on an intimate, curated tour of some of the city's finest examples of mid-century modern architecture and interiors. Dinner was hosted at , the resort’s elegant French-cuisine restaurant.
