On the Move: HGA Washington Names Associate Vice President and Corporate Interiors Principal

Design industry professionals on the move.

HGA

Bruno Grinwis has joined as associate vice president and corporate interiors principal in the Washington, D.C. office. Grinwis has over 30 years of experience with interior architecture for corporate, institutional, association, and nonprofit organizations, which will reinforce HGA's workplace design practice. He previously served as vice president and director of workplace interiors at and associate at . He will oversee the expansion of marketing opportunities in the D.C. region. “We are driven to help clients create purposeful design with a lasting impact," says Win Roney, vice president and corporate market sector leader at HGA, "and we are thrilled to have Bruno join us in fulfilling that mission."

IKD

Boston interdisciplinary design firm is expanding to San Francisco, opening a new office led by founding partner Tomomi Itakura. IKD already has projects in the pipeline throughout the West Coast, including at Stanford University and the de Young Museum.

Ware Malcomb

Michael Petersen has been promoted to principal, architecture at Irvine, California office. Petersen boasts over 25 years of experience as an architect and joined Ware Malcomb in 2012. He most recently served as director, architecture, a role that encompassed the firm’s commercial, healthcare, science, and technology studios. 

Additionally, Kelly Leanos has been promoted to Principal, Interior Architecture and Design at the firm's East Bay office in Pleasanton, California. The East Bay office recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Hill West Architects

Michael Stevick has joined as director of business development. Stevick previously worked for and , and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Villanova University.

HNI Corporation

Stan Askren will retire from his position as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of  by 2019. As part of a long-planned succession process, Jeffrey Lorenger will be promoted to president and join the board of directors.

has promoted Paul Cooper to principal. Cooper has worked with TEF since 2012, where he contributed to the Bay Area Metro Center and helped renovate the Bayview Opera House.

Washington architecture firm has hired Sam Forman as architect. Forman has five years of experience in the hospitality sector, and his hiring comes after a year in which //3877 completed multiple hospitality and restaurant projects, with more in the pipeline.

Puccini Group

Alexandria Dempsey will join as the firm’s new vice president of marketing and branding. Dempsey brings deep knowledge of the food and beverage industry along with her business acumen; she holds an MBA in Food & Wine and has worked with celebrity chefs and nationally recognized brands.

CO Architects

Stephen Epstein has joined in Los Angeles as chief financial officer, where he will lead the firm's business and human resources operations. Epstein has experience with developing solutions that help firms become profitable while still fostering creativity.

Corgan 

In the culmination of a three-year leadership strategy, Scott Ruch will replace Bob Morris as CEO of Corgan, while Lindsay Wilson and Steve Hulsey will serve as presidents in addition to their current roles as sector leaders. Ruch has been promoted from the role of executive managing principal. Morris will continue with the firm as chairman of the board.

Francis Cauffman 

The Philadelphia and New York City architecture firm Francis Cauffman has appointed Wan C. Leung as science & technology principal. Leung has over two decades of planning, programming, and design experience, and most recently worked as a senior project manager at Flad Architects.

Sydness Architects


Matthew Ruopoli has been promoted to associate at Sydness Architects. Matthew joined the company in 2015 and has expertise in workplace design, residential projects, sustainability, and art curation, as well as the study of the psychological and physiological effects of design.
