Decades after his father launched Woven Accents, a purveyor of antique rugs, Sam Moradzadeh has rebranded, simply, as . More than a marketing maneuver, the change represents the next stage in the evolution of the company: Its first in-house design effort, Studio Woven, consists of hand-knotted rugs informed by ancient motifs but skewed toward today’s sensibilities. Wool options include Phife, a nod to Morocco; Quest, a maze that references Japanese stitching; Iaon, a textural grid; and Adam, taken from a Turkish mosaic. There are also intriguing fiber mixtures. Welko is an amalgam of hemp, linen, and wool, while circle-in-a-square Won combines silk and Aloo.
